UPDATE: Boy found safe after Fairfield abduction
UPDATE: An 8-year-old boy in Fairfield was found safe Monday morning, hours after he was abducted in front of his home .
The kidnapping of Brock Guzman setting off a statewide manhunt and triggering the state’a Amber Alert system.
Guzman was kidnapped by an unknown person at about 4:45 a.m. According to television station KCRA, Guzman was asleep in the backseat of his parent’s car in front of their home when it was stolen.Less than 2 hours after the abduction, CHP issued an Amber Alert for Solano, Yolo, Contra Costa, Sacramento and Napa counties.
The boy was found still asleep in the back of the silver 2001 Toyota Corolla, which the thief abandoned on the 400 block of Dahlia Street, said Fairfield police Officer Kathryn McCormick.
The car was spotted by a citizen on the street, less than 2 miles from the boy’s home, McCormick said.
Officers “approached the vehicle and found Brock, still asleep in the back seat,” she said.
