San Bernardino Names New Director of Veterans Affairs
The County of San Bernardino has named retired Army Colonel Frank Guevara as its new head of veterans affairs. Guevara, who currently works as an application development manager for the county’s Information Services Department, will take over on June 1, overseeing a team of 18 people with offices in San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Hesperia.
Guevara spent 38 in the Army, having served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. His service includes time spent as an officer-in-charge of the Intelligence and Security Command, where he oversaw 5,400 military and civilian personnel, providing intelligence support and equipment to US and NATO forces in Afghanistan.
In addition to his military service, Guevara holds a bachelor’s of science in computer information systems from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA from the University of La Verne. He also earned an officer’s commission from Cal Poly’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He is replacing retired Director of San Bernardino County Department of Veterans Affairs Bill Moseley.
