‘Charlie Brown’ Admits Plotting to Kill SD County Sheriff

You’re a not so good a man, Charlie Brown.

Earlier this month, Peter Robbins pleaded guilty to threatening the manager of a mobile park estate and more notably, attempting to hire someone to kill San Diego County Sheriff William Gore.

So who is Peter Robbins?

Robbins, now age 59, voiced Charlie Brown in a half dozen specials back in the 1960s. They were notable specials too, including TV mainstays A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Robbins was accused of offering $50,000 for someone to kill Gore, said Deputy District Attorney Brenda Daly.

Robbins has been facing prolonged legal troubles these past few years, going back to a 2013 incident involving threatening his girlfriend and stalking her plastic surgeon. This most recent case seems to have been brought on initially by parole violations.

Robbins will be sentenced on December 7th.
