Santa Barbara County Just Got a New HR Boss

Anyway, congrats to Lori Gentles for having landed the other ‘SB’ County Director of Human Resources job.

Gentles will start on January 11, likely because her current post is at Cal State Fullerton and she needs to close out the current term. She is succeeding Jeri Muth, who retired at the end of October.

Previous work has led Gentles to San Francisco State and Contra Costa County.

In her new role, Gentles will oversee human resource functions for the county’s workforce of more than 4,000 employees.

“I look forward to returning to county government, working with my new esteemed colleagues and the Board of Supervisors to ensure that our support services are first tier and meet the growing needs of county employees and residents,” Gentles said.

She seems like a fun woman to be around and can be seen here taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that went around last year.
