Yuba County Sheriff’s Deputy Caught in Pennsylvania Drug Bust

A sheriff’s deputy from Yuba County, California has found himself on the wrong side of the law after authorities in York County, Pennsylvania caught him transporting more than 200 pounds of marijuana cross-country. Deputy Christopher Heath was one of three men arrested in the massive sting on Dec. 28 and was released after posting $1 million bond.

York County authorities said they were unaware that one of the men they were tracking was a law enforcement officer. In an added twist of irony, it turns out that Heath also serves on the on the Yuba County drug and gang task force.

Heath’s department-issued weapon and badge were confiscated during the sting. The deputy has since been placed on administrative leave.

Authorities say the confiscated drugs were worth over $2 million.
