Sonoma County Races Are Heating Up
Sonoma County Supervisor Efren Carrillo has endorsed Lynda Hopkins to fill his seat and simultaneously criticized Noreen Evans.
But as the saying goes, people who live in glass house, shouldn’t throw stones. And Carrillo’s legal history shows just how glassy his home is, and Evans put it all on display in her response.
As The Press Democrat reports, Evans on a Facebook post wrote about his criminal charges and what has been labeled a “pre-dawn” encounter. “Two years ago, I and 23 other brave women asked Carrillo to resign after he terrorized a local woman.”
Hopkins has yet to accept the endorsement. She currently has support from the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce and the Northern California Engineering Contractors Association.
Meanwhile, over in the 1st District, a Candidate’s Forum with a meet-and-greet will take place tonight at the Sonoma Community Center.
The three candidates, incumbent Supervisor Susan Gorin and challengers Gina Cuclis and Keith Rhinehart, will attend. The forum will be in Andrews Hall at the Community Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
