
El Dorado HHS Director Promoted to Chief Administrative Officer Position
El Dorado County Health and Human Services Director Don Ashton will soon be making a bold career move. On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors announced his appointment to the Chief Administrative Officer position at the conclusion of an extensive, national recruitment effort.
“The Board of Supervisors was most impressed by Ashton’s professionalism, collaborative leadership approach, his level of integrity and transparency, and finally his emphasis on working closely with the community to best meet the needs of El Dorado County residents and visitors,” the county said in a statement issued Tuesday.
Ashton has headed Health and Human Services for the past three years and previously served as chief fiscal officer for Sheriff John D’Agostini. His resume also includes a work as principal analyst in the Chief Administrative Office and more than 17 years in various leadership positions with the County of Los Angeles. He holds a bachelors degree in environmental health and safety and a master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Northridge.
