BREAKING: Active Shooter on UCLA Campus

The situation is extremely fluid, but here is what we know so far:

Two people were shot and killed at the University of California, Los Angeles Wednesday morning. The school was placed on lockdown shortly after 10 a.m. Students were told to stay in place and take cover. Nearby elementary schools were also locked down.

Police are still on scene and currently searching for the suspect. Witnesses described the shooter as a Caucasian male around 6 feet tall and wearing black pants and a black shirt, but police have not confirmed that. Some unconfirmed reports also indicate more than one shooter.

Authorities are scheduled to give a press conference shortly. A citywide tactical alert has also been issued.

We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
