CA Law Enforcement Urges Caution for Pokemon Go Players
If you’re one of those Pokemon Go players who haven’t been scared off by the recent security concerns, for heaven’s sake, please be careful when trying to catch a Pikachu or Charmander.
It should go without saying, but California law enforcement officials are saying it anyway. That's because tons of people are getting injured all over the world while playing this game. We've heard of people falling of skateboards, bumping into walls and waltzing into police stations to catch a Pokemon. With so many people staring at their phones, the game has actually become an issue of public safety.
“Warning: Gamers using #PokemonGo-Don’t get so engrossed you aren’t aware,” the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station tweeted. Garden Grove and Metro had to issue similar warnings. And a sheriff in Virginia actually had to remind people that trespassing is still not ok.
If you've been living under a rock and haven't heard of Pokemon Go, get with the program here.
