California’s Drought: “Exceptional” No More

Pop the champagne! All of California is officially out of the “exceptional drought” (D4) stage.

The good news comes from the U.S. Drought Monitor. It also shows just 2% of the state in extreme to exceptional drought (D3). Last year, 64% of California was under that category.

We aren’t out of the woods just yet. Experts still want to see more rainfall, especially in the south and central portions of the state. But there’s no doubt the situation is improving.

Keep it comin', 2017.
