SLO Supervisor Adam Hill Talks About His Struggles With Depression

San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill’s behavior has been the subject of controversy. Now, he’s opening up to the media about what he says has been a lifelong struggle with depression that has grown worse in recent years.

Hill sat down with KSBY’s Brooke Martell to talk about his journey. A video of the interview is available here

Hill first went public with his personal struggles after an online outburst in which told a constituent to “f*** off.”

“I allowed my own public frustrations or my own private frustrations and intensities become public so it became necessary for me to deal with it and admit publicly what I was dealing with,” he told Martell.

Hill took a month off work and began regularly speaking with a therapist. He’s now back on the job and taking his mental wellbeing seriously, he says.
