Meet Mariposa County’s new HR Director

The Mariposa County Board of Supervisors has selected a U.S. State Department employee as its new head of Human Resources. Kimberly Williams assumed the job Tuesday, nearly one year after the retirement of former Mariposa County HR Director Steve Johnson.

Williams has been employed by the State Department for the past eight years, most recently working as a special assistant to the acting assistant secretary.

Williams earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Georgia State University and her master’s degree in history from East Carolina University. She is a certified national trainer for the Center for Teacher Effectiveness and a certified human resource manager. She has worked as a professor with Hillsborough Community College, as vice president of programming for the United Nations Association, and as director of the Ybor Museum Society.
