See the Daring Camp Fire Rescue Captured on an Officer’s Body-Worn Camera
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office has released harrowing video of a Camp Fire evacuation captured by a deputy’s body-worn camera.
The officer, Aaron Parmley, was attempting to find and rescue two nurses trapped at Feather River Hospital in Paradise on Nov. 8.
“Flames were on both sides of the roadway and he couldn’t see more than ten yards in front of him,” video caption reads. “His car became disabled, forcing him to get out and walk on foot. He activated his body-worn camera, in hopes of capturing what he thought were going to be the last moments of his life.”
The video, which does have a happy ending, serves as an incredible reminder of the courage and sacrifice displayed by our public safety personnel and first responders.
