Riverside Authorities Confiscate 90 lbs of Marijuana in Countywide Crackdown

Riverside County officials are flexing their muscles in the face of a thriving black market for illicit pot.

As part of a countywide crackdown, 10 illegal dispensaries were recently served with search warrants, leading to the confiscation of about 90 pounds of marijuana from eight different locations. Two people were also arrested — one on a stolen firearm charge and another for driving with a suspended license.

The dragnet was led by the Riverside County District Attorney’s cannabis regulation task force. The dispensaries were located in Hemet, Thousand Palms, Lake Elsinore, Temecula, Jurupa Valley, and Banning.
