Calling All Students With an Interest in Local Government and Public Planning. SCAG is Accepting Scholarship Applications Through April 26.
There are several days left for students who wish to apply to the Southern California Association of Governments’ scholarship program. Recipients of the $4,000 grants will receive valuable experience in local government and planning issues which can translate to successful careers later on.
Seven high schoolers or community college students within SCAG’s boundaries will receive the awards, which will include a two-week internship and meetings with local officials. Two more students, not necessarily within a specific county, may also be chosen for scholarships.
The endowments are available to high school juniors, seniors, and community college students within the counties of Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura, or on SCAG Tribal Lands. They must be eligible to work in the United States. A 3.0 GPA or higher is also required.
