School Abuse Reporting System Launched by San Diego DA

The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office is streamlining the reporting process for students who experience abuse in school. DA Summer Stephan announced a new online portal and task force Thursday for lodging and reviewing complaints.

Complaints can be made via the new student safety website. The Student Safety in School Systems task force will then review and respond to those complaints.

“If a student, parent, it might be some employee at the school or it might be a friend of the family – no one is excluded here – this is to give everybody access and everyone a voice so that everyone feels confident that they can go directly to an agency that is willing to help them,” said Deputy District Attorney Stephen Marquardt, who is leading the task force.
