Tulare Hires New General Services Director

Tulare County has hired a seasoned local government professional as its next head of General Services.

Former Tuolumne County General Services Agency Director Daniel Richardson assumed the same position in Tulare on Jan. 5. He’s replacing John Hess, who was promoted to Assistant County Administrative Officer in August.

Richardson has spent two and a half decades in public administration. He holds a master’s in public administration with an emphasis on local government from the University of Kansas and previously served as Tuolumne’s Administrative Analyst and Deputy County Administrator.

Tulare’s General Services is comprised of 11 departments: custodial services; capital projects; facilities services; fleet services; grounds services; museum; parks and recreation; print, mail and copy services; property management; purchasing; and utilities. Richardson will oversee its $80 million annual budget and more than 150 employees. His base salary will be $135,000 per year.
