Kings County Rescinds Shelter-in-Place Order
Kings County has rescinded its local shelter-in-place order, leaving its residents bound only by the restrictions set by the state. Last recent vote by the Board of Supervisors was unanimous.
The actual impact of the decision will be minimal. The rules in Kings County, adopted on April 7, were mostly aligned with the state’s already.
Supervisor Craig Pederson praised county residents for heeding social distancing guidelines even when there was some confusion. “I’m very proud of our community,” he said.
Businesses that could be part of a soft reopening will be discussed at the Board’s meeting May 7.
