Sacramento Mulls Paying Sick People to Stay Home
Sacramento County is considering a pilot program that would pay people $1,000 to stay home after they’ve tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Health officials plan to discuss the experimental program in the coming weeks. The idea mirrors pilot programs approved in the counties of San Francisco and Alameda. Those programs could eventually expand.
Sacramento’s positivity rate has been declining. But at 6.6%, it is still above the state average of 5.6%.
