Hill, 54, was found dead on Aug. 6 at his Shell Beach home. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed, but Hill had attempted suicide several months earlier. Hill had been open about his struggles with Depression.
Hill was elected to the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors in 2008. He previously taught as an English professor at Cal Poly and once worked for Sen. Bill Bradley (D-New Jersey).
