Santa Cruz Businesses Can Now Have Their Safety Measures Endorsed by the County

Health-conscious shoppers in Santa Cruz County have a new and easy way to determine whether a business is up to par on COVID-19 safety precautions. A voluntary program known as “COVID-19 SAFER” launched this week. Businesses whose COVID-19 safety precautions are endorsed by the county receive a blue check mark that they can display for potential customers.

“The Blue Check Program seeks to verify the business enforces face coverings and physical distancing, limits the number of people in the store, frequently cleans shared equipment and more,” Patch reports.

In a press release, Economic Development Director Andy Constable said the program “helps provide that comfort by assuring businesses follow the best medical advice to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

Businesses interested in applying for an endorsement can start the process here.
