Bay Area health officials call for full school reopenings
Ten local health officers from the San Francisco Bay Area released a recent statement endorsing the full reopening of schools this fall.
The statement was issued by the health officers of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Sonoma counties as well as the City of Berkeley.
A lack of in-person learning options has “disrupted education, weakened the social supports provided by school communities, negatively impacted mental health, and prevented participation in the rituals and shared milestones that tie our communities together,” The officials said.
