Susan Parker is Lake County’s Next CAO
Lake County’s Interim County Administrative Officer is being signed on permanently.
The Board of Supervisors voted last Monday to give the job to Assistant County Administrative Officer Susan Parker, who has been filling in ever since the departure of her former boss Carol Huchingson on April 12.
Board Chair EJ Crandell said Parker has done a “truly outstanding job” as Interim CAO and that the board is “confident Susan will bring strong leadership for years to come.” She was one of six candidates for the position.
Parker has served as Assistant CAO for the past three years. From 2013 to 2018, she served as Town Manager of Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She has 20 years of executive-level experience in government, according to Lake County.
