
Ventura County Public Information Officer Resigns After Alleged Hit-and-Run DUI
Ventura County Public Information Officer Ashley Bautista has resigned following her arrest for a suspected drunk driving hit-and-run.
Bautista allegedly ran into a car that was waiting at a stoplight just after 8 PM on Friday, June 17. According to the person who was hit, Bautista proceeded to drive away from the scene. The driver followed her and called the police, who apprehended Bautista approximately 2 miles away. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Bautista‘s resignation took effect Tuesday, June 21. She is due to appear in court on August 15.
Prior to serving as the county’s lead spokesperson, Bautista was the public information officer for the Ventura Police Department and the City of Ventura.
