SF Supervisors Meeting Disrupted by Vandalism Incident

A San Francisco Board of Supervisors meeting was canceled Tuesday after someone vandalized an outdoor cable box, disrupting public access to the meeting.

San Francisco police received a vandalism report at 11:10 a.m. near Hyde and Geary streets.

“A fiber enclosure in an underground vault was completely destroyed disrupting services to customers served by that portion of Comcast’s network,” a company spokesman told The San Francisco Standard. An individual was detained at the scene.

San Francisco supervisors’ meetings are broadcast on Comcast channels 26 and 78. Due to the incident, Tuesday’s meeting was rescheduled for Wednesday, April 12, at 9:30 a.m.

Ironically, one of the items up for discussion was a proposed 2024 ballot amendment that would increase police staffing to deal with the city’s crime wave.
