Gov. Newsom Appoints Dawn Ortiz-Legg to SLO Board of Supervisors

San Luis Obispo County Planning Commissioner Dawn Ortiz-Legg has been appointed to the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors. Governor Gavin Newsom tapped Ortiz-Legg to fill the District 3 seat formerly occupied by the late Adam Hill.

Supervisor Hill died by suicide in August following a public battle with Depression. He and Ortiz-Legg were good friends.

“Ortiz-Legg has a background in public affairs, regulatory compliance, and project management. Since 2010, she has supported a portfolio of utility-scale solar projects in San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Kern counties,” according to a press release.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and her master’s degree in international public policy from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
