Pacoima Beautiful Executive Director Veronica Padilla-Campos Appointed to SQAMD

Pacoima Beautiful Executive Director Veronica Padilla-Campos has been appointed to the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s Governing Board by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood).

“I’m excited to have this new voice on the board. Her perspective on environmental justice will be a clear asset to a body that has so much influence on how the environment impacts people in my district,” said Rendon. “I especially welcome her ability to think outside the issue silos. Jobs are part of environmental policy and Padilla-Campos is committed to making those clean jobs.”

Pacoima Beautiful is an environmental justice non-profit dedicated to promoting a healthy and sustainable environment in the San Fernando Valley. It accomplishes this through education, public policy promotion, and hands-on beautification projects. It has spearheaded environmental cleanup and safety campaigns in some of the poorest areas of Los Angeles County.

Padilla-Campos has been Pacoima Beautiful’s Executive Director since 2013. Previously, she helped lead ICON CDC and served on the North Valley Area Planning Commission for the City of Los Angeles.

Padilla-Campos is replacing Dr. William A. Burke, who sat on the board for 27 years. He’s retiring. She will start on June 1 and serve out the remainder of Burke’s term until January 15, 2022.
