California’s Healthiest Counties
Marin County has once again been named the healthiest county in California. This is the 12th year that Marin has taken the top spot on the 2022 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, which is compiled annually by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
The rankings are based on a variety of social and health factors including life expectancy; tobacco, alcohol and substance use; health care quality and access; air and water quality; childcare; jobs; and housing. The report’s authors hope lawmakers and public health officials will use the rankings to improve health outcomes for people across the state.
