Christopher Wilhite Appointed San Bernardino Assessor-Recorder
San Bernardino’s former assistant assessor Christopher Wilhite is now serving as the county’s assessor-recorder, succeeding the late Bob Dutton, who passed away July 23. Wilhite was appointed to the job Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Four other candidates were under consideration for the assessor-recorder position: Dutton’s widow, Andrea Dutton; former Fifth District Supervisor Josie Gonzales; San Bernardino supervising auditor-appraiser Bradley Snowball; and Larry Walker, a former auditor-controller.
Wilhite has served as assistant assessor for San Bernardino County for the past 22 years, including the past eight under Dutton. He has more than 36 years of appraisal and real estate-related experience.
