Marin Hires HR Director

Sonoma County Human Resources Department Director Christina Cramer has been selected for the same job in Marin County.

Cramer will lead Marin’s Department of Human Resources, beginning January 17. She will oversee a team of 40 full-time employees and manage an annual $7.9 million budget. Her compensation will be $236,808 with benefits.

“Cramer, who grew up in Novato and has deep Marin family roots, brings 26 years of professional human resources leadership in the public and private sectors, entirely in the North Bay,” according to a press release. “With Sonoma County, she supervised 65 full-time equivalent positions and a $123.7 million operating budget as her team provided services to 28 county departments plus local special districts and agencies. She actively participated in strategic objectives such as racial equity, social justice, and organizational excellence in addition to the core HR services such as labor relations, recruitment, risk management, workers’ compensation, and benefits.”

“I am looking forward to getting to know the Human Resources team and the whole organization,” said Cramer. “Organizations across the country have been heavily impacted by the post-COVID ‘Great Resignation.’ I will be focused on helping Marin recruit and retain an excellent workforce so the County can provide the important and much-needed services to the Marin community.”
