Shasta Hires New Director of Support Services

Shasta County has promoted its Assistant Director of Support Services to the Director’s role.

Monica Fugitt has worked for Shasta County for 12 years and previously served as Chief Fiscal Officer.

"I am honored to have been selected as the Director of Support Services and continue serving Shasta County," said Fugitt. "We have an incredible team here, and I am committed to using my skills and experience to facilitate a positive work environment for our county employees through recruitment and retention efforts, employee development, and risk management. I will also ensure the County receives best value products and services through fair and ethical competitive procurement practices. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to making a positive impact on our organization, in the lives of our staff, and in our community."

“Having cultivated strong relationships with other department heads, Monica is aware of needs and concerns in relation to personnel, purchasing, and risk management,” according to a county press release.  

The release also touted Fugitt’s educational background, which includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an option in Accounting from CSU Chico and a Governmental Accounting Certificate from the University of Georgia.
