Mendocino County Supervisor Announces Assembly Run

Mendocino County Supervisor Ted Williams has announced his candidacy for California’s 2nd Assembly District, which is currently held by Democrat Jim Wood. Williams made his decision after Wood announced he would not seek re-election because of family obligations.

Like Wood, Williams is a Democrat. He has represented the county’s Fifth District since 2019. Previously, Williams served as chief of the Albion-Little River Volunteer Fire Department.

Williams said he is running “because our rural northern communities need a stronger voice in California.”

“The data shows we are being left behind and I want to talk about how we can turn that around,” he added

The 2nd Assembly District is comprised of Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Sonoma, and Trinity counties.
