All L.A. Beaches Closed Due to Health Advisory

All L.A. County beaches are under an ocean water quality rain advisory by the Department of Public Health. The advisory is a result of recent storms, which have pushed debris and bacteria onto beaches and into their waters.

The advisory is expected to remain in effect until Wednesday, April 3 at 8 a.m., but it could be extended.

Unsafe bacteria levels have already been detected at beaches in Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, and Malibu. The present bacteria levels are particularly dangerous for children, the elderly, and those with chronic health conditions.
