Sac County Looks at Mass Layoff

Sacramento County could be eliminating up to 900 jobs in an effort to address its $187 million shortfall. According to the report in the SacBee, "The proposed cuts would affect virtually all facets of county government, including: the office of county counsel, 14 positions; Public Defender's Office, 55; juvenile medical services, 16.5; and Department of Health and Human Services, 116, including 100 filled jobs."
