The Marin County Health Department and Marin County schools have begun planning for emergency authorization of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11.
Remote Imperial County is one of the poorest regions in California. Yet its COVID vaccination rate is tied with San Francisco, just behind affluent Marin and Santa Clara counties.
The county’s largest EMT provider, American Medical Response in Modesto, told the Board of Supervisors that it saw a 50% drop in enrollment last year due to COVID-19 illnesses and restrictions on education.
“We do need to work harder to ensure that there’s good information and easy access to vaccinations for our younger people,” said LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer.
